Ingredients

1/2 cup dates, stoned
2 tablespoon raisins, seedless
1 teaspoon cumin, ground
1 teaspoon chile powder
1 teaspoon tamarind pulp
1/2 cup cold water
3/4 teaspoon salt; or to taste
1 teaspoon brown sugar, soft



Directions: How to Cook Date Sauce

1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor & add half the water. Switch on & when the ingredients are half ground add the remaining water & blend until fairly smooth.

2. Pour the sauce into a strainer & push it through with a metal spoon until a dry & coarse mixture is left in the sieve - discard this mixture & transfer sauce to a serving bowl. Garnish with sliced dates, if desired. Recipe By : The Complete Indian Cookbook

green chillies and if desire green
coriandar delicious chutney is ready
