1 cup seedless dates; cut into fine pieces
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup ghee
1/2 cup cashewnuts; cut into fine pieces & fr
25 gm pistachio nuts; chopped
Directions: How to Cook Date Halwa - Karjura Halwa
Mix together milk, sugar and dates. Keep this mixture to boil. When boiling, add ghee. Then add 1/4 cup of cashewnuts. Cook on slow fire till the mixture is almost dry and the halwa is formed. Remove from fire, spread it on a dish and add the rememing 1/4 cup of cashewnuts. Garnish with the chopped pistachio nuts.

I tried this recipe a long time back when I saw it the first time on T.V. The milk started curdling when I started cooking it on the stove. Is this normal?
